Application Questions

Cultural Ambassadors will recruit people and organizations to apply for SFAC grant opportunities. Priority grant funding goes to artists and arts organizations that are deeply rooted in and reflective of communities listed in the Arts Commission’s 1993 Cultural Equity Endowment Legislation and informed by current best practices in racial equity. (SF ADMIN. CODE CHAPTER 68: CULTURAL EQUITY ENDOWMENT FUND. Sec. 68.6. PROJECT GRANTS).  Please note that Cultural Ambassadors will be asked to recruit San Francisco-based organizations and artists who must demonstrate a two-year artistic history and SF residency requirements.

These are the two types of outreach roles that Cultural Ambassadors will focus on. If selected, you will be assigned to one of these roles:
  • Bridge builder: in-person via community programs and events and some online/virtual outreach via social media

  • Influencer: primarily online/virtual outreach via social media

Demographic Survey

The San Francisco Arts Commission collects demographic data about the people we engage with to better serve our communities and to maintain our commitment to equity.

Completion of this demographic survey will be used to evaluate and inform SFAC outreach and technical assistance strategies. We understand that the criteria/categories in this survey might not be perfect, and we appreciate any feedback to revise categories in ways that may feel more appropriate.

Thank you for your participation.
